Old Bakota Reliquary Statue

Description

For collecting is this superb 27 inch Bakota reliquary statue.  The statue is tens of years old based on the stress fractures of the wood and is professionally mounted on a 7.7 inch by 7.5 inch by 1.5 inch wooden base.  The piece is in great shape and is formally a piece that was in the Barnes Collection of African Art.  This is more of a contemporary piece and probably not used in any type of cultural ceremonies.
This is a fantastic piece of old African art that can blend in and be integrated with modern day contemporary art and designer pieces.
